The City Campus is situated in the Masvingo CBD. It is the former paramount school and has been renovated to suite university standards. The Campus is currently being used by students from both the Faculty of Social Sciences and Commerce as their learning venues. The University has also acquired 57 Mega bytes of Internet and this has greatly improved access to the network and students can surf the net throughout the day. The university has also facilitated for spacious accommodation facilities at the ZIMDEF flats where students learning at the City Campus stay in pairs.
The University has widened its horizon at the City Campus where it has made tremendous progress with the construction of the School of Law at its City Campus. This development is in fulfillment of a pledge that was made by Professor Zvobgo when he was installed by the Chancellor, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde. R.G. Mugabe in October 2012. Completion of the School of Law is scheduled to be the end of this year. It has only been two months since the construction of the School began and it is envisaged that when done, the structure will have various court rooms - from the Supreme Court down to the traditional court for students to have a “hands on” approach to their studies. The University also acquired a City Campus Library from Norman Richards which is under renovation and it expected to be a huge library which will service both the City and Mucheke Campus. Also located in the CBD is the School of African and Asian Studies, a stone’s throw from the GZU City Library.
