International award for Vice Chancellor
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Rungano Zvobgo was on 9th December 2015 honoured with the Africa Education Leadership Award in Mauritius. The award was organised by World CSR Day with CMO Asia as its strategic partner.
According to the Board which administers the awards, “the AFRICA EDUCATION LEADERSHIP AWARDSare presented to Individuals and Institutions who have surpassed several levels of excellence and are role models”.
The citation of the Award reads: “Those who can make a difference to the lives of others are chosen for the quality of their work, global reach and outlook and ability to contribute value to social change.
The AFRICA EDUCATION LEADERSHIP AWARD is an intensely researched process undertaken by a research cell which consists of Post Graduates in History and Management with over five years research experience post their studies. It is the job of the research cell to produce a shortlist of individuals who are doing extra ordinary work and track the record of their achievements. The shortlist is then reviewed by a jury comprising senior professionals from across the globe”.
Since 2012 when he was appointed Vice Chancellor for Great Zimbabwe University, Professor Zvobgo has received several local and international awards in recognition for the remarkable transformation of the University in a relatively short period.
