The Great Zimbabwe University is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to enroll in the following New, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree Programmes to start in February, April and July 2017.

 NOTES:

The closing dates for submission of completed application forms are as follows:

SIMON MUZENDA SCHOOL OF ARTS CULTURE AND HERITAGE STUDIES

Programme Entry Requirements
Bachelor of Arts Dual Honours Degree in African Languages and Media studies (BA HALMS) (4 year conventional)

February 2017 Intake

Normal Entry

a)       Applicants should have at least 5 ‘O’ level passes or equivalent, including English language, plus at least 2 ‘A’ level passes (inclusive of an African language subject/Literature in English).

Special Entry

a)       Applicants should have at least 5 ‘O’ level passes or equivalent, including English language, and any relevant certificate/Diploma from a recognized institution. In addition, a pass in any ‘O’ Level African Language is a pre-requisite.

Mature Entry

a)       Applicants should have at least 5 ‘O’ level passes or equivalent, including English language, and be at least 25 years of age. A pass in an ‘O’ Level African Language is a pre-requisite. In addition, a candidate may be required to undertake an entry examination administered by the school as part of the process of satisfying entry requirements for admission to the programme.

Bachelor of Arts Dual Honours  Degree in African Languages and Philosophy (BA HALP)

 (4 Year Conventional)

a)       Applicants should have at least 5 ‘O’ level passes or equivalent, including English language, plus at least 2 ‘A’ level passes (inclusive of an African language and any arts subject).

Special Entry

a)       Applicants should have at least 5 ‘O’ level passes or equivalent, including English language, and any relevant certificate/Diploma from a recognized institution. In addition, a pass in any ‘O’ Level African Language is a pre-requisite.

Mature Entry

a)       Applicants should have at least 5 ‘O’ level passes or equivalent, including English language, and be at least 25 years of age. A pass in an ‘O’ Level African Language is a pre-requisite. In addition, a candidate may be required to undertake an entry examination administered by the school as part of the process of satisfying entry requirements for admission to the programme.                           

Bachelor of arts Dual Honours Degree in African Languages and Religious Studies (BA HALRS) (4 year conventional)

a)       Applicants should have at least 5 ‘O’ level passes or equivalent, including English language, plus at least 2 ‘A’ level passes (inclusive of African languages and Divinity/Religious Studies).

Special Entry

a)       Applicants should have at least 5 ‘O’ level passes or equivalent, including English language, and any relevant certificate/Diploma from a recognized institution. In addition, a pass in any ‘O’ Level African Languages and Religious Studies is a pre-requisite.

Mature Entry

a)       Applicants should have at least 5 ‘O’ level passes or equivalent, including English language, and be at least 25 years of age. A pass in an ‘O’ Level African Languages and Religious Studies is a pre-requisite. In addition, a candidate may be required to undertake an entry examination administered by the school as part of the process of satisfying entry requirements for admission to the programme.

Master of Arts Degree in Literary Studies (11/2    Years  (Block Release)

 

 

April 2017 Intake

 

 

Programme

a)       This is a Masters Degree by coursework and research, a combination that offers prospective students a unique opportunity to acquire dynamic ways of reading texts across a broad range of canons and endows students with research skills to be innovative future researchers.

Entry Requirements

a)       Applicants must have a minimum of good first degree in English or English and Applied Communication

 

MUNHUMUTAPA SCHOOL OF COMMERCE

Programme Entry Requirements
Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree  in Hospitality Tourism and Culture (4 Years Conventional)

 

February 2017 Intake

Normal Entry

a)       Five (5) ‘O’ level passes or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics at grade C or better.

b)       2 ‘A’ level passes including at least, Accounting, Mathematics, Management of Business, Business Studies, Food Science and Economics.

c)       Holders of National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality may qualify under special entry.

Bachelor of Commerce Special Honours Degree in Accounting (1 year Block Release)

Normal Entry

a)       Applicants must be holders of a first degree  with at least a lower second class grade or better in any of the following:

·         Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting and Information Systems

·         Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Banking and Finance

·         Any other equivalent degree as approved by the University

b)       Holders of Professional I Programme of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators may qualify under special entry.

Master of Commerce Degree in Professional Accounting and Corporate Governance/GRAD ICSA  (11/2    Years  Block Release)

Normal Entry

a)       Applicants must hold an appropriate Honours Degree with a minimum of a 2.2 degree class pass in any of the following:

·         Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Accounting

·         Bachelor of Commerce Special Honours Degree in Accounting

b)       Any equivalent qualification as approved by the University

Complete an official application form, which can be obtained from the Admissions Office, Great Zimbabwe University upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of $20. 00 for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. No application is valid unless the appropriate application fee has been paid. Application forms can be downloaded from the University website: www.gzu.ac.zw. The downloaded application forms must be accompanied by a valid receipt or bank deposit slip marked (Application Fee). Application fees can be deposited into any of the following University Accounts:
