Dr Andrew Chindanya was appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Great Zimbabwe University on 1 December 2016.
He holds a Doctorate in Educational Management, a Master of Education in Educational Management, Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Management and Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Education. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Zimbabwe.
Until his latest appointment Dr Chindanya was the Dean of the Robert Mugabe School of Education. He has previously held posts as High School Teacher, Principal Lecturer at Teachers’ College, Acting Teachers’ College Principal, University Lecturer, Departmental Chairperson and Deputy Dean.
Dr Chindanya has also served as Assistant National Chief Examiner for English Language for the Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) and Chief External Examiner for the Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO). He is currently an Assessor of University programme regulations and qualifications for the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE).
Dr Chindanya has presented papers at several national and international conferences. He has published locally and internationally and has done consultancy for national and international organisations and universities.
